What modems can I use with my IRL Backpack or LiveU Solo-based setup?

Option A) Utilize Solo Connect modems and plans

As the easiest and most seamless way to use your IRL Backpack, UnlimitedIRL always recommends Solo Connect modem kits for their flexibility, reliability, and integration with the rest of the LiveU Solo ecosystem. Additionally, these modems provide top-of-the-line performance and support for both the included SIM cards and your local ones.

Option B) Use Solo Connect modems with your own SIM cards

If you can find local SIMs and plans at a more affordable rate, feel free to use them! Many streamers prefer the convenience of unlimited plans through LiveU due to the numerous advantages mentioned earlier. Nonetheless, we still recommend the Solo PRO Connect modem kits for Solo PRO configurations, as the modems themselves offer top-tier performance and compatibility with your own SIM cards. While you don't have to sign up for LiveU data plans, you can retain the included PRO SIMs for future use, which is particularly beneficial if you plan on streaming while traveling to other countries.

Option C) Use your own modems and SIM cards

LiveU maintains a list of compatible modems here. Additionally, most MiFi style routers will work over WiFi or Ethernet with the LiveU, and most NDIS compatible USB modems will work as well.
