Enabling LRT bonding for your IRL Backpack or LiveU Solo

What is LRT?

LRT (LiveU Reliable Transport) is a video and audio transmission protocol developed by LiveU. It ensures rock-solid reliability over cellular and other IP networks, enabling connection bonding (combining multiple network sources together). Access to LRT for your IRL Backpack or LiveU Solo requires a paid monthly license.

How Does LRT Licensing Work?

Solo Connect monthly plans include a license to use LRT. If you choose not to use Solo Connect, you can still use LRT by purchasing the license separately for $45/month.

Why Don't I See the LRT Zone Option?

Due to a systems limitation on LiveU's end, activating your Solo Connect modem kit or purchasing an LRT license does not immediately enable LRT. It takes 3–4 hours for LiveU's systems to fully apply the LRT license to your device. During this time, the LRT Zone dropdown will not appear on the dashboard.

Once the license is applied, you will see the Zone Dropdown on the dashboard when your LiveU unit is powered on and connected.

What Should I Expect?

1. Immediately After Activation: You will not see the LRT Zone dropdown on the dashboard. The Solo Connect license has been activated, but it is not yet synced with LiveU's systems. Below is an example of what the dashboard will look like during this period:

2. After 3–4 Hours: Once the license is fully activated, the LRT Zone dropdown will appear. Below is an example of what the dashboard will look like after the activation is complete:

How Do I select an LRT Zone?

1. Ensure the unit is powered on and not streaming.

2. Select the appropriate zone from the dropdown menu. (Select the zone that is closest to you geographically. Remember to update this zone when traveling)
