UnlimitedIRL Receiver Setup

1. Setup Guide Steps

After unpacking your Receiver, turn it on by plugging the bottom right USB-C port into power and sliding the power switch to “on”. Next, connect your Receiver to your IRL backpack or HDMI-based encoder using the HDMI ouput on the left side of the receiver.

You are now ready to connect your video source of choice.

Download The UnlimitedIRL App For Receiver Device Support

1. Install the "UnlimitedIRL" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
2. Once prompted, allow "UnlimitedIRL" to find Bluetooth devices.
3. Turn on your Receiver.
4. Press the blue "Add a device" button and the app will begin to scan for devices.
5. Select your Receiver and it will connect.
6. Click on the Receiver image once it has been paired to update its software and set up connections.

Using Your Camera As A Video Source (Wired)

Receiver has both a USB-C and a USB-A port available for connecting UVC supported cameras via cable. (Check our device compatibility list below)

1. Plug your UVC compatible camera into the USB port of Receiver.
2. If the camera prompts for “Webcam” mode on the screen, select it.
3. An available source on the screen of Receiver will appear and the feed be visible.
4. A second camera can be added via the remaining USB port which can enable switching between cameras and also picture-in-picture mode. (See multicam setup for more information)

Using Your Camera As A Video Source (Wireless)

Receiver supports RTMP connection for wireless video transmission. Check our device compatibility list below to see if your camera is supported. If it is RTMP compatible, follow these steps for setup.

First-time Pairing

1. Enter “Quick Pair” mode with the far right button on Receiver.
2. Turn on your camera. The camera should prompt to approve the pairing. Accept the pairing request on the camera.
3. You may need to select “Start Stream” in the Quick Pair settings in Receiver. Note: You can set Receiver to auto-start when a camera is found inside of the Quick Pair settings
4. Stream should begin and you will see it as an RTMP source.

Subsequent Pairing

1. Power on Receiver and your camera.
2. On receiver press the “QuickPair” button (far right)
3. In the Quick Pair settings on Receiver scroll down to “Start Stream” and select it.
4. The camera will begin streaming and you will see an RTMP source.

Using Your Phone as a Video Source (Wireless)

1. Install the “Moblin” app from the Apple App Store. (The icon is a green face)
2. Turn on your Receiver and open the UnlimitedIRL app.
3. Press arrow down on the Receiver for the "Connect to Wifi" page and go to your phone wifi settings.
4. Select the "Other" option, add the name and password shown on your Receiver screen, then connect.

You are now ready to connect to Moblin

Setting Up Auto-connect To Moblin

1. In the UnlimitedIRL app click on your Receiver and press the blue "Add to Moblin” button.
2. Moblin will open and show a prompt asking for “Import Settings”. Confirm this.
3. In Moblin, click on the settings cog-wheel button, then go to “Streams” and verify “UIRL_Receiver” is toggled on.
4. Hit “Go Live” and the video feed is now being sent to Receiver!
5. Connect your Receiver to the desired streaming device using HDMI, and the video will be output.

Setting Up Manual Connection To Moblin

1. If the auto-connect to Moblin is not working, we can set up the connection manually.
2. Boot Receiver and connect your phone to Receiver’s wifi using the same steps as above. Note: The RTMP settings can be found in (button3) cog wheel, then selecting “Wifi” from (button 4) arrow.
3. In Moblin, select the cog wheel in the top right for settings and press “Streams”. Click “Create” then scroll to the bottom for "Custom". Choose the RTMP(S) protocol.
4. Enter the following URL: rtmp://192.168.42.1/live/source1 . Use “UnlimitedIRL” for the stream key and hit Next. Note: "/source1" can be changed to "/source2", "/source3", "/source4" for additional camera sources
5. Make the Stream Name “To Receiver” and enable “Background streaming”. Click “Create”.
6. Now select “To Receiver” as your stream in Moblin, hit “live” and the RTMP source will appear on Receiver's screen.
7. Connect your Receiver to the desired streaming device using HDMI, and the video will be output.

Troubleshooting: If the stream fails to start, double check that your phone’s wifi is properly connected to the ReceiverAP access point.

For future streams all you will need to do is connect your phone to Receiver’s ReceiverAP access point, open Moblin, make sure “To Receiver” is selected in “Streams” and hit ”Live” !

Multi-cam Connection Setup

1. Once you have a source connected to the Receiver, pressing the "Mode" button on the Receiver will toggle between a fullscreen single source and the multi-camera layout.
2. To edit the layout, press the settings cog on the Receiver, arrow down until you see "PiP Settings", and select it.
3. The first line will show your current Mode. Press the select button to toggle between "Grid" and "Picture in Picture".
4. When "Grid" mode is selected, your video sources will be positioned next to eachother. Arrow down and select "Background" to change your preferred background color.
5. When "Picture in Picture" mode is selected your second video source will be overlaid on top of your first video source. Arrow down to "Position" to change its location, and "Size" to change between Normal, Large, and Small.

Scene Setup

1. The default Output Resolution is displayed in the top left of the Receiver.
2. To change it, select the settings button on the receiver and navigate to "Output Settings".
3. Clicking on the first line will toggle between the different available Canvas Resolutions.
4. Clicking on the second line will toggle between NTSC and PAL color encoders. Note: NTSC is the most commonly used encoder for live-streaming.

QuickPair With DJI Cameras

1. Turn on both your Receiver and DJI camera.
2. Press the QuickPair button on the far right of the Receiver.
3. When the DJI camera automatically connects, select the "Webcam" option.
4. The camera will begin streaming and you will see an RTMP source.
5. For all future connections, simply turn on your Receiver and DJI Camera, press the QuickPair button, and arrow down to select "Start Stream".

2. FAQs

"How Can I Update My Receiver?"

1. Turn on your Receiver and open the UnlimitedIRL app.
2. Selected your device once connected.
3. Select the three lines in the top right, and check under "Device Management".
4. Your device will display "Up to date", or give you the option to install the update.

You can also update your Receiver using our Receiver Update tool.

"Why Is Receiver Not Showing An Active Source When I Go Live On Moblin?"

1. Ensure your iPhone is connected to the Receiver's wifi network.
2. Check Moblin "Settings" -> "Streams" to make sure your Receiver is the selected stream output.
3. Click the Receiver's stream output on Moblin and ensure the "Destination URL" is the same RTMP address shown on the "Stream" page of your Receiver.
4. If you're using multiple cameras, check which the RTMP source number on the receiver Moblin is using. You may need to change the end RTMP address on Moblin to "/source2".
